Cali Round 3!

It has been quite the whirlwind month for me after visiting South FL, New York, and California all within 3 weeks! My Dad's project out here in San Diego is coming to an end we thought we should come out one last time to see the finished park. Aquatica San Diego is now open Ladies and Gentlemen, which means my dad is now free to come home soon! We spent a day enjoying the water park, despite the water being less than warm.

So proud of you daddy!

Friday night we saw Tim McGraw in concert at the Sleep Train Amphitheater, and I must say he was terrific! Love & Theft and Brantley Gilbert were opening acts for Tim and they were great as well. BG is quite the performer, but he is pretty rough around the edges!

Brantley Gilbert rockin' the house!

Tim McGraw has quite a good body, especially for a man of his age! Look at those arms!

My wonderful parents and I

This guy made my night, it's just too funny!

This weekend we also visited Sunset Cliffs and La Jolla Cove one last time.

Sunset Cliffs

The Seals and Sea Lions are all over La Jolla Cove.

I could stand there all day, just watching the Seals play.

Crazy California

For a Florida girl this California weather is difficult to deal with! It's 50 in the morning and evening and 75 at 2PM. To me, that's the difference between winter and summer in FL. I don't know how to dress for this weather, so most of this week I have decided to just try to look good and freeze my butt off. I'm tired of wearing winter clothes.

Since my dad is here on business for a while, he has been renting a truck, which becomes our mode of transportation when we visit and he is at work. Over Christmas he had a Nissan Titan that I was forced to drive for the first time in Downtown LA. Now, he has a Silverado, which I have taken quite the liking to.

I was proud of myself for backing it in like a pro. I'm thinking I should trade the mini in for a truck and go full on country girl. Yes, no, maybe so??

Yesterday, it was warm enough to enjoy the pool, well until I got burnt...

Tried working the camo hat again....I'm still not so sure I can pull it off. lol

 Belmont Park and Mission Beach

I was determined to get to the beach at least once this week, so we headed into Mission Beach and Belmont  Park. It was a nice little beachy/touristy area to hang around right on the beach.

They even had a roller coaster!

Palm trees on palm trees on palm trees. Yes, I'm obsessed with them.

Top: Forever 21
Purse & Sunglasses: H&M

We ran out to the beach to snap a quick picture, but it was freezing!

It actually was 62 out there was no way we were going to be able to enjoy the beach today! I was so disappointed, I just wanna be tan!!

La Jolla

With all day to kill we decided to head to La Jolla, but the drive there was a foggy one?

After stopping in a couple of stores in La Jolla Village we dropped in Cups, an organic cupcake shop/lounge! I'm not really sure what made them organic, but they were good! (I don't really ask questions, I just go with the flow)

I went for the PB Cup! It was delicious even though it was melting from the long car ride home. San Diego traffic is no joke!

Momma indulged in the Bunny Love cupcake!

Oh and one more thing! If you all haven't checked out Luke Bryan's 'Spring Break...Here To Party' Album, you should! I am obsessed, all of the songs are funny and pretty dead on to a college students life. I have had it on repeat all week!

Snowy Spring Break

Today we ventured up to Laguna Mountain in San Diego to see some snow! We figured if it wasn’t warm enough to be at the beach we should go check it out. It was a 45 minute drive up I-8 to the snowy wonderland that we ended up at. We didn’t really know what to expect since it was 70 degrees out when we left the house. We were super excited to see there was an abundance of snow on the ground and it was still about 50 degrees at the top of the mountain. Perfect!

My dad was kind enough to lend me his jacket while I made a snow angel.

Do I make a good Eskimo?? (I did not make this igloo- ain't nobody got time for dat)

This is one massive snow man....

And this is my snow man...pretty pitiful, huh? I thought the pine cone hat was a nice touch though.

Apparently, in Cali dogs are smart enough to drive! So cute!

I was pretty happy to be basking in the sun as we waited to enter the Cabrillo National Monument.

Cabrillo National Monument and Point Loma Light House

This is the historic Point Loma Light House. It was a quaint little house that the Keepers, the Israel family, lived in to maintain the light, guiding boats into San Diego for 18 years.

Once inside the Cabrillo National Monument we had a great view looking back at San Diego across the bay.

I'm fancy, huh?

Every view from here was spectacular, even this one which I took from the bathroom! That's not weird is it? lol

The Cabrillo National Monument is dedicated to Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, the man who led the first European expedition to the west coast in 1542.

All in all, it was good day exploring some more of southern Caliornia. I tend to get a little too excited when visiting new places, I took 229 photos today. OOPS!

Coast to Coast

I originally started blogging when I was in California over Christmas break because I had so many great pictures and stories. It was my first time visiting Cali and I loved it, I am so fortunate I get to spend Spring Break here as well. Since I am here I should have some more interesting things to share. Hopefully.

After a long 5 hour 8 AM flight from Orlando to San Diego, we ate lunch and napped. Anyhow, we eventually got up and made our way to Imperial Beach to catch the sunset.

It really is beautiful watching the sunset on the beach, hopefully it will warm up so we can actually enjoy it! But in the meantime we may venture to the mountains tomorrow to see snow! Did I really just say that?? I didn't even bring any jackets! Oh well.

January 2nd

So, for the new year I am going to try to upload a pic every day. January 2nd was my last day in Cali and we spent most of the day resting from the stressful trip to LA. Here is a selfie I took.

I am sure many of you love Instagram, but I recently discovered a new mobile editing app called Aviary. It gives you a lot more options than Instagram does. You can choose filters, frames, contrast, fix blemishes, whiten teeth and even make your photos into Memes! This photo I edited with Aviary, which is why the date on the pic says January 4th. Lol

Oh, the Places You'll Go! - Rose Parade 2013 Pasadena, CA

I have never been to a parade nearly this big, so my dad was eager to take us there. We purchased reserved seats in the grand stands and reserved parking nearby, which definitely paid off! The hardest part was waking up at 5 AM the day after NYE to arrive on time to the 8AM parade. We were all exhausted after, but it was an awesome parade. I am still a bit snap happy with my new camera, so I basically photographed the entire 2 hour parade. Here are some of my favorite floats.
LAX had a neat float.
Me and my older brother enjoying the parade.

The float for those who have saved lives by donating their organs.
Disney's California Adventure Float

Loved the hot air balloons!

Carter Oosterhouse and another designer from HGTV

There was a whole house on the HGTV float!

These guys had the coolest, most ornate outfits ever! I wonder how heavy  all that is.

So, I'm pretty sure this couple ACTUALLY got married atop this float. How cool!

To Find A Cure

City of Burbank's Float--So Cute!

A little bit of country in this float. It was pulled by a humongous tractor! And check out that flag! USA!

The closing float of the Rose Parade 2013!
The pictures didn't turn out too great, but you get the point. lol
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After sitting in traffic for nearly an hour, most of which that was in the parking garage, we headed back towards San Diego. On our way back, we stopped at the Torrey Pines Gliderport in La Jolla. Here are a couple pics I caught of these paragliders flying over the ocean! Looks like fun! They must have a great view from up there.

Happy New Year!
