Snowy Spring Break

Today we ventured up to Laguna Mountain in San Diego to see some snow! We figured if it wasn’t warm enough to be at the beach we should go check it out. It was a 45 minute drive up I-8 to the snowy wonderland that we ended up at. We didn’t really know what to expect since it was 70 degrees out when we left the house. We were super excited to see there was an abundance of snow on the ground and it was still about 50 degrees at the top of the mountain. Perfect!

My dad was kind enough to lend me his jacket while I made a snow angel.

Do I make a good Eskimo?? (I did not make this igloo- ain't nobody got time for dat)

This is one massive snow man....

And this is my snow man...pretty pitiful, huh? I thought the pine cone hat was a nice touch though.

Apparently, in Cali dogs are smart enough to drive! So cute!

I was pretty happy to be basking in the sun as we waited to enter the Cabrillo National Monument.

Cabrillo National Monument and Point Loma Light House

This is the historic Point Loma Light House. It was a quaint little house that the Keepers, the Israel family, lived in to maintain the light, guiding boats into San Diego for 18 years.

Once inside the Cabrillo National Monument we had a great view looking back at San Diego across the bay.

I'm fancy, huh?

Every view from here was spectacular, even this one which I took from the bathroom! That's not weird is it? lol

The Cabrillo National Monument is dedicated to Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, the man who led the first European expedition to the west coast in 1542.

All in all, it was good day exploring some more of southern Caliornia. I tend to get a little too excited when visiting new places, I took 229 photos today. OOPS!

Love,
LST
