Thread & Thrum

Growing up in a relatively small town that lacks boutiques and locally owned shops, I am always on the look out for new ones. This weekend I noticed a boutique just down the street from me that I wanted to be sure to stop in before heading back to Tally. It turns out it is owned by a friend of my hairdresser! Me and my mom stopped in to see what they had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised that they had some really cute and unique finds! Unfortunately,  most of the clothing I was drawn to was too big for me. :( Many of their pieces are vintage or second hand pieces which they collect from marts in Cali and NY.

The boutique had a very rustic and almost western theme to it. So, as you can imagine I was in love. I really wanted to buy something despite most of it being too big. They had some really cool retro accessories, that I probably should have purchased for the sake of an awesome blog post.

Anyhow, I did leave with this bustier type of top. It was practically the only thing that fit me and even though it's not exactly 'IN' I figured I could make it into a cute outfit. The owner and her mother were just the nicest people and it was only $6 BUCKS! So, I had to buy it!

I tried the look with shorts and a skirt, but neither of them looked quite right, so I just paired it with jeans and simple jewelry for a cute, casual look.
